Let’s talking IMMUNITY-BOOSTING!

Unfortunately, there is no single food ingredient, super food or nutrient that can improve our immunity. Nor will short-term dietary changes significantly impact our immunity.

HOWEVER, did you know that over 70% of immune system is contained within our digestive tract?

This means that by promoting our gut health we can improve our immunity which = less sick days, lower risk of allergies and autoimmune conditions.

And how do we improve our gut health? By fueling our gut bacteria with the only thing that feeds them...Fiber!

Aim for at least 30 different types of plant food each. Each plant food contains different types of fiber and beneficial phytonutrients that feed different bacteria. It’s easier than you think! This smoothie bowl alone had FOURTEEN different types of plant foods (pineapple, banana, spinach, mango, peaches, ginger, almond butter, bran buds, oats, hemp hearts, flax, chia seeds, strawberries, blackberries).

Note: the ONLY thing that can stop the spread of COVID-19 is isolation, and a healthy gut will not prevent you from receiving or transmitting the virus.

Every Sunday, I take time to prep our lunches for the upcoming week. I find it a massive pain in the ass every single week. I find it challenging to think of new ideas for meals I want to eat for an entire week, that keep well, and are tasty and delicious. But if I don’t meal prep, I regret it for the entire week. So (almost) no matter what, I get it done. This is one of my favourite meal prep recipes. It’s quick and easy, keeps well all week long and provides tons of fiber. My favourite kind of recipe!

This is bomb. Creamy and delicious, just the way Alfredo should be. Minus all the saturated fat of a traditional Alfredo sauce 🙌
